Trump Says Tariffs Bring Businesses Back to US From Canada

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump says companies are moving their operations back to the United States from Canada as they seek to avoid tariffs, while once again criticizing the economic relationship between the two countries.

Trump claims that the US has been suffering annual losses of more than $60 billion in its trade relationship with Canada.

"For many years, the USA has been losing more than 60 Billion Dollars a year with Canada. Why???" he wrote.

He also says companies that previously moved their businesses outside the United States are now reversing course and returning to the country.

"Our long ago stolen businesses are now coming back to America in order to avoid paying tariffs," he said.

Trump adds that companies are increasingly choosing to return to the US, describing the trend as part of a broader global response to American trade policies.

"They are lining up, just like the rest of the World!!!" Trump added.

His comments come as tariffs and international trade remain central elements of the administration’s economic strategy.
