Nepal Disaster Agency: 933 Workers Trapped at Six Power Projects

(MENAFN) At least 933 workers remain trapped at roughly six hydropower projects across Nepal in the wake of last week's devastating floods, the country's disaster agency said Monday.

According to Nepal's Disaster Management Authority, rescue efforts are underway to reach the stranded workers even as relief operations continue across flood-affected regions, media reported.

The floods have inflicted widespread destruction throughout Nepal, damaging roads, bridges and other critical infrastructure while cutting off access to several impacted areas.

Search operations remain ongoing for individuals reported missing after flooding and landslides struck parts of the country, as authorities work to assess the full extent of damage to hydropower facilities and other essential infrastructure.
