Hundreds Of Workers Remain Trapped at Nepal Hydropower Sites
(MENAFN) At least 933 workers are believed to remain stranded at approximately six hydropower projects in Nepal following severe flooding that hit the country last week, according to disaster management authorities.
Rescue teams are working to reach the trapped workers as emergency and relief operations continue in areas affected by the floods.
The disaster has caused extensive damage across Nepal, destroying or damaging roads, bridges and other essential infrastructure while leaving several affected communities difficult to access.
Authorities are also conducting ongoing searches for people who remain missing after floods and landslides struck multiple parts of the country.
At the same time, officials are assessing the impact on hydropower facilities and other critical infrastructure as recovery and relief efforts continue.
