Pakistan Leaders Extend Victory Day Greetings to Türkiye
(MENAFN) Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif send warm wishes to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the people of Türkiye on the 104th anniversary of Victory Day.
Zardari highlights the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye, describing it as a special partnership built on shared history, faith and mutual support.
"Pakistan and Türkiye enjoy a unique and enduring relationship, rooted in deep bonds of history, faith and mutual support," Zardari said.
He also recalls the significance of the Great Victory of Aug. 30, 1922, describing it as a major moment in Türkiye’s history. Zardari expresses confidence that relations between the two countries will continue to strengthen and expand.
He wishes Erdogan and the Turkish people continued peace, prosperity and success, concluding with the message, "Long live Pakistan–Türkiye friendship," he added.
Sharif also commemorates the occasion, emphasizing the historical importance of the victory achieved under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and its role in establishing the foundations of the modern Turkish Republic.
"The 30th of August commemorates the historic victory secured under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, which laid the foundations of the modern Turkish Republic. Pakistan joins its Turkish brothers and sisters in honouring this proud legacy of courage and national resolve."
Sharif further stresses the close personal and historical connection between the two nations, describing their relationship as enduring ties built through centuries of shared faith, history and struggle.
