Zelenskyy Says Russian Strike Killed Dozens in Kyiv Region
(MENAFN) Thirty-eight people have been killed and four others remain missing following a Russian strike and a series of explosions in the village of Myla in Ukraine’s Kyiv region, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Sunday.
“Unfortunately, it is known that 38 people were killed by the strike and subsequent detonation,” Zelenskyy said, adding that another 20 people were injured, including two children. Rescue teams continue searching for the four people who remain unaccounted for.
Zelenskyy says Russia has significantly intensified its attacks on Ukraine over the past week, launching nearly 2,000 attack drones, more than 1,600 aerial bombs and 31 missiles. He says the missile attacks included ballistic missiles supplied by North Korea.
The Ukrainian president also warns that Russian jet-powered drones are becoming an increasingly serious threat, as Moscow continues to expand the range and methods of its aerial attacks.
Zelenskyy says Ukraine is working to develop and strengthen measures capable of countering the growing wave of Russian strikes.
