Masked Israeli Attack Injures Palestinian Woman, Journalists
(MENAFN) A Palestinian woman and three members of an NBC News crew are injured after masked Israeli attackers assault them in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, according to reports.
The incident occurs in the Palestinian town of Jalud, near Nablus, while the journalists are interviewing 51-year-old Aida Ahmed Abdullah and her family.
Abdullah tells the crew that Israeli occupiers had driven her family out of their home. Video footage reportedly shows Abdullah and the journalists walking down a slope toward the property when a vehicle carrying Israeli license plates suddenly reverses in their direction.
At least four masked men then reportedly emerge from the vehicle and attack the group using sticks and rocks.
NBC News international correspondent Matt Bradley suffers two blows to his arm and later receives medical treatment at a nearby clinic.
“They jumped out, beat us, then jumped back in the car,” Bradley said.
A cameraman and a producer accompanying Bradley are also injured during the assault and subsequently receive treatment.
The Palestinian Red Crescent transports Abdullah to receive medical care. A joint statement from the Israeli army and Israel Border Police says her injuries are not life-threatening.
Abdullah’s husband, Mahmoud Toubasi, says her condition has improved, although she remains in hospital on Saturday evening.
