Joint Prayer Held In Kyiv To Mark International Day Of Disappeared

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War said this in a Facebook post.

The service was led by Epiphany, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine and Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Families of Ukrainian defenders, Dmytro Usov, Secretary of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, Secretariat Head Bohdan Okhrimenko, representatives of the headquarters, military personnel, volunteers, and members of the public joined the joint prayer.

During the service, Epiphany honored all Ukrainians who are missing and thanked everyone working to find and bring Ukrainian citizens back from enemy captivity.

He also expressed unwavering faith that all Ukrainian prisoners would return home.

Representatives of the defenders' families were presented with awards from the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in recognition of their spiritual resilience and dedication.

For her part, a representative of the families thanked Epiphany for his continued attention to the families of Ukrainian defenders, regular meetings, and assistance in addressing their urgent needs. She also highlighted the OCU's consistent support for military personnel.

Following the prayer service, representatives of the Coordination Headquarters met with the families of Ukrainian defenders. The participants discussed pressing issues and further cooperation.

During the meeting, Usov assured the defenders' relatives of comprehensive support from the Coordination Headquarters and emphasized the importance of maintaining regular, direct dialogue with the families.

As noted by the Coordination Headquarters, it is critically important for the families of prisoners of war and missing persons to know that society remembers their loved ones and continues to support them as they wait day after day.

"The search for missing persons, establishing their fate, and bringing Ukrainians home from captivity require consistent and joint efforts by the state and society," the Coordination Headquarters emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported, a metal map of Ukraine featuring 100 military identification tags belonging to service members who went missing under special circumstances was unveiled on the Heroes' Alley in Zaporizhzhia.
