Defense Ministry Has Options To Address $27B Funding Shortfall Khmara

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara said this while speaking to journalists.

“There is a $27 billion shortfall in defense funding, and the ministry already has options for addressing it. The first avenue is to bring forward part of the European loan planned for next year. Another avenue is to work with countries that have not yet joined this financial framework or could increase their contributions. The ministry has identified partners with whom it would be worthwhile to engage separately in order to secure additional funding for specific defense needs,” Khmara said.

He assured that Ukraine would present its partners with a clear vision and plan: what tasks the Defense Forces face, what projects are needed to accomplish them, what results must be achieved and within what timeframe.
