Jordan Petroleum Refinery Joins 2026 National Cybersecurity Exercise
Amman, Aug. 30 (Petra) -- The Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) has participated in the 2026 National Cybersecurity Exercise, testing its ability to respond to cyberattacks and safeguard critical digital and operational systems.
Organized by the National Cybersecurity Center, the exercise brought together institutions from a range of vital sectors to assess preparedness for potential cyber incidents and strengthen coordination during security threats.
In a statement Sunday, JPRC said its participation focused on testing the readiness of its technical and administrative teams, including their ability to detect and respond to cyber incidents, manage crises and restore systems following an attack.
The exercise featured practical scenarios simulating advanced cyberattacks, requiring participating teams to implement detection, response and recovery procedures in line with national cybersecurity standards and established best practices.
JPRC said the exercise also provided an opportunity to strengthen coordination and communication among relevant entities during cyber incidents, an essential component of an effective response to threats that could affect operations and service continuity.
The company said participation forms part of its broader efforts to strengthen cybersecurity across its digital assets and operational systems, meet National Cybersecurity Center requirements and maintain preparedness for evolving cyber threats.
JPRC is also continuing programs to upgrade its technology infrastructure and strengthen cybersecurity awareness across its operations, as part of its digital transformation efforts.
The company said these measures are intended to safeguard the reliability of its services, maintain operational efficiency and support business continuity in an increasingly complex cybersecurity environment.
