RSF Attacks Kill Civilians, Trigger Displacement Fears in North Kordofan
(MENAFN) At least four civilians are killed in attacks attributed to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan’s North Kordofan state, according to a local emergency response group.
The Dar Hamar Emergency Room says RSF fighters carry out “serious crimes and violations” against unarmed residents in the Al-Qaa area west of Bara and in nearby villages.
According to the group, four civilians lose their lives during the attacks, while residents also face looting and intimidation. Additional injuries and missing people are reported, although no specific figures are provided.
The emergency group calls on humanitarian organizations and the Sudanese Red Crescent to respond immediately, assist affected communities and ensure that injured civilians receive the necessary medical treatment.
The violence comes as Sudan remains engulfed in a conflict between the army and the RSF that began in April 2023. The fighting has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and forced around 13 million people from their homes.
