Palestine Urges International Action to End Al-Mughayyir Siege

(MENAFN) Palestine calls for urgent international intervention to stop the escalating violence by Israeli forces and illegal occupiers in the West Bank town of Al-Mughayyir, warning that the measures are intended to isolate the community and force its residents from their homes.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry says the town, located northeast of Ramallah, has been subjected to “a suffocating siege” for 20 consecutive days. Israeli forces have closed the town’s entrances and restricted residents’ movement to only two hours each day.

The restrictions also prevent ambulances from entering the town, while residents face what the ministry describes as “indiscriminate targeting” of civilians.

“These Israeli actions are an attempt to isolate and besiege the town militarily and economically and displace its residents,” it warned.

The ministry says the growing attacks by Israeli forces and illegal occupiers across the West Bank reflect a broader policy aimed at "creating a reality of killing, terror, and forced displacement" while changing conditions on the ground.

It further warns that the “continued provision of protection, weapons, and political and legal cover” for illegal occupiers risks triggering “an escalation with uncontrollable repercussions.”

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry therefore calls on the international community to take immediate steps to stop the violence and prevent further deterioration in the West Bank.
