Russia Extends Diesel Export Ban to Stabilize Domestic Fuel Market
(MENAFN) Russia extends restrictions on the export of certain petroleum products, including diesel, through Sept. 30 as authorities seek to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market.
The government says a new decree prolongs the existing restrictions on diesel, marine fuel and gas oils exported by Russian producers. The measure comes shortly before the previous ban was scheduled to expire on Monday.
“The decision was made to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market,” the statement said.
A broader restriction on fuel exports also remains in place through Jan. 31, 2027, according to the government.
The latest extension comes as Russia’s fuel industry continues to face pressure following a series of Ukrainian attacks on energy infrastructure in recent months, which have contributed to disruptions and difficulties across the country’s fuel sector.
