The first incident involves the Turkish-operated vessel “Lider Bordo Mavi,” which is struck off the coast of the Russian Black Sea port of Tuapse on Aug. 26.
A day later, the “Lider Kocatepe” is dispatched to the area to assist in towing the damaged vessel but also comes under attack.
Following the two incidents, Turkish authorities summon Ukraine’s ambassador to the Foreign Ministry to communicate Ankara’s concerns over the attacks.
During the meeting, Turkish officials emphasize the need to protect human life, property, maritime navigation and the environment in the Black Sea. They also deliver the necessary warnings regarding the risks posed by further incidents in the area.
