War Update: 221 Clashes Along Front Line Over Past Day, Fiercest Fighting In Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka Sectors

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook in an operational update as of 8:00 on Sunday, August 30.

Yesterday, Russian forces launched four missile strikes using five missiles and carried out 79 airstrikes, dropping 292 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces deployed 11,357 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,138 shelling attacks on settlements and Ukrainian military positions, including 60 using multiple launch rocket systems.

The enemy shelled, among other locations, the settlements of Neskuchne, Korenok, Potapivka, Mala Korchakivka, Volfyne, Atynske, Sopych, Bachivsk, and Tovstodubove in the Sumy region, as well as Liskivshchyna in the Chernihiv region.

Ukraine's Air Force, missile forces and artillery struck 14 clusters of Russian personnel, seven artillery systems, six UAV control posts and three other important enemy targets.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, five combat engagements were recorded. Russian forces carried out 167 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements and conducted two airstrikes using five guided aerial bombs.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian units repelled 10 Russian attacks. The enemy attempted to advance toward Lyman, Hrafskе, Chuhunivka, Ozerne, and Khatnie, as well as near Starytsia.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces launched two offensive actions toward Radkivka and Podoly.

Attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses were repelled in the Lyman sector, where Russian forces attacked nine times near Novoselivka and Cherneshchyna as well as near Lyman and Dibrova.

In the Sloviansk sector, Russian forces launched eight assaults near Kryva Luka, Riznykivka, and Zakitne as well as toward Orikhuvatka.

No Russian assault operations were recorded in the Kramatorsk sector.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, 31 Russian attacks were recorded. The enemy launched assaults near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Novoselivka, Rusyn Yar, Toretskе, and Sofiivka, as well as toward Mykolaipillia and Kucheriv Yar.

The enemy carried out 30 attacks in the Pokrovsk sector. Russian forces attempted to advance toward Bilytske, Shevchenko, Novohryshyne, Vasylivka, Serhiivka, Novopidhorodnie, and Novyi Donbas, as well as near Udachne, Orikhove and Novomykolaivka.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces launched four attacks toward Berezove.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian defensive positions 10 times. The enemy attempted to advance toward Vozdvyzhivka, Huliaipilske, Charivne, Novoselivka, Kalynivske, Nove Zaporizhzhia, and Maliivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped three Russian attempts to advance near Pavlivka and Mala Tokmachka.

No Russian assault operations were recorded in the Dnipro River sector.

No signs of Russian forces forming offensive groupings were detected in the Volyn and Polissia sector s.

As reported by Ukrinform, total Russian combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, through August 30, 2026, have reached approximately 1,486,600 personnel, including 1,400 over the past 24 hours.
