Gaza Death Toll Climbs as Israeli Shelling, Strikes Continue

(MENAFN) Another Palestinian died early Sunday from wounds suffered in an Israeli attack on southern Gaza, as Israeli artillery kept pounding both the northern and southern reaches of the enclave.

The Nasser Medical Complex said the victim succumbed to injuries from Israeli shelling that struck the Al-Amal neighborhood of Khan Younis late Saturday.

Israeli artillery also hit eastern parts of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, along with areas northwest of Rafah in the south.

Separately, four Palestinians were killed and 11 others wounded Saturday in a string of Israeli attacks across the strip, including drone strikes in Khan Younis and Gaza City, and gunfire directed at farmers east of Deir al-Balah.

The latest fatality pushed Saturday's overall death toll from Israeli attacks to at least five.

Since the ceasefire took effect last October, Israeli violations have killed as many as 1,313 Palestinians and injured 4,361 others, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. In total, Israel's war on Gaza since October 2023 has claimed at least 73,449 lives and left 174,472 people injured.
