Six Palestinians Hurt as Israeli Forces Raid West Bank Refugee Camp
(MENAFN) Six Palestinians were wounded late Saturday after the Israeli army deployed tear gas during a raid on the Al-Faraa refugee camp, south of Tubas in the northern occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported.
Medical crews treated all six for tear gas inhalation at the scene, the organization said.
The raid unfolded alongside a wave of fresh Israeli incursions across the occupied West Bank. In Al-Bireh, Israeli forces entered and fanned out through multiple neighborhoods, according to the official Voice of Palestine radio, though no arrests or home raids were reported there.
Further north, in Al-Mughayyir near Ramallah, Israeli forces fired tear gas at Palestinian homes during a raid on the village; no injuries were reported in that incident.
In Hebron's Old City, Israeli soldiers assaulted journalists and blocked them from working as Israeli occupiers moved through the area under military escort, the broadcaster said.
Witnesses told media that a group of occupiers, accompanied by Israeli soldiers, entered the Old City and advanced toward the Bab al-Baladiyeh area. Israeli forces also restricted Palestinian residents and shopkeepers from moving freely through the district, witnesses said.
Military incursions have become an almost daily occurrence across the occupied West Bank, frequently involving gunfire, home raids and arrests. Since Israel's war on the Gaza Strip began in October 2023, the Israeli army and occupiers have intensified operations in the West Bank, coinciding with expanding illegal settlements and tightening restrictions on Palestinian movement.
