Zelenskyy Says US Shares Details of Recent Moscow Meetings with Ukraine
(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the United States has shared information with Kyiv regarding a series of meetings recently held in Moscow.
In a video address late Friday, Zelenskyy says Ukrainian officials remain in contact with Washington before and after the meetings, which took place “the other day.” He does not identify the participants but indicates that several meetings are involved.
“Thank you for the information – and for the necessary tone of the conversation with Russia. We value the alignment of steps and the fact that America is advancing a realistic vision of what needs to be done and what must be achieved,” Zelenskyy noted.
He stresses that ending the conflict remains the central objective and says the necessary circumstances must be established to bring the war to an end.
“Russia must end its war, and all the necessary conditions must be created to make that happen,” he added.
The comments come after the Kremlin confirms that CIA Director John Ratcliffe visits Moscow on Tuesday, marking the first trip by a CIA chief to the Russian capital since 2021. The Kremlin says the visit involves communication between security agencies and characterizes the contacts as a "positive phenomenon, a positive process."
Reports about the visit emerge after a US Air Force C-17A Globemaster III flies from Riga, Latvia, to Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport on Tuesday morning. Flight-tracking data indicates that the aircraft arrives in Latvia two days earlier from Camp Springs, Maryland, near Joint Base Andrews, an area frequently used by US government aircraft.
