Former Ukrainian Defense Chief Fedorov Advises Italy on Defense Innovation
(MENAFN) Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov takes on a new role as an adviser to Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, focusing on defense innovation and the integration of advanced military technologies.
The two officials held detailed discussions covering drones, unmanned systems, air defense capabilities, and efforts to expand Italy’s broader defense technology ecosystem.
“Given his significant experience in digital innovation applied to public administration and defense, I am pleased that Mykhailo Fedorov has agreed to provide me with his expertise as an adviser for defense innovation,” Crosetto said in a statement.
Fedorov expressed gratitude to the Italian minister for his “personal support” and for offering him the position. He said his work would center on helping Italy introduce modern technologies used in warfare, reinforce its defense industry, and respond more effectively to evolving security threats around the world.
“Ukraine and our team possess unique, real-world experience in high-tech warfare that we are eager to share with our allies,” he wrote on US social media company X.
Despite taking on the advisory position in Italy, Fedorov said his main attention would continue to be directed toward initiatives in Ukraine. These efforts will focus on expanding the country’s defense capabilities while also securing greater international support and resources.
