Three More Unknown Ukrainian Soldiers Buried At National Military Cemetery

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The press service of the National Military Memorial Cemetery reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"They gave their lives fighting for the freedom of our land, and although their names have yet to be established, the state welcomed its heroes with the highest honors. Each soldier was buried with dignity and appropriate military honors," the statement said.

Among those who attended the burial ceremony were Head of the Office of the President Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Vereshchuk, Minister for Veterans Affairs Vitalii Kim, Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity Denys Uliutin, Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Vyhivskyi, Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Ivan Dobrovolskyi, and Deputy Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Yevhen Konchakovskyi.

Members of Ukraine's Defense Forces, veterans, families of fallen defenders, representatives of the public, clergy and other visitors to the memorial also took part in the ceremony.

The fallen soldiers were carried along the Alley of Remembrance through a guard of honor. Following the burial ceremony, military chaplains from various denominations offered prayers for all fallen defenders. Each chaplain prayed according to their own religious tradition.

The state emphasized that work to restore the names of each of these soldiers will continue even after their burial. "Regardless of whether their name has been established, each of them is a Defender of Ukraine," the National Military Memorial Cemetery emphasized.

A "Table of Remembrance" was also installed at the cemetery today at the initiative of the Grabar Foundation. Relatives and friends of fallen soldiers, fellow service members and other visitors wrote the names of the soldiers they remember on special cards.

As part of an initiative by the "Honor" public organization, relatives of fallen defenders, service members and other participants also took part in the communal weaving of remembrance wreaths, an ancient Ukrainian tradition of honoring the fallen. The wreaths and fresh flowers were placed on the soldiers' graves as symbols of love and remembrance.

As reported, on August 29, Ukraine honors the memory of fallen defenders.
