Amman, August 29 (Petra) – Global pricing data for petroleum products in August 2026, comparing actual costs with local selling prices, shows that the Treasury in Jordan continues to bear the price differences for several petroleum products and domestic gas cylinders.

According to data monitored by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the actual cost of 90-octane gasoline stood at approximately JOD1.069 per liter, compared with a consumer selling price of JOD1, representing a difference of JOD.69 per liter.

The actual cost of 95-octane gasoline reached approximately JOD1.31 per liter, matching its local selling price, with no difference between the actual cost and the consumer price.

For diesel, the actual cost stood at approximately JD0.96 per liter, compared with a selling price of JD0.85, representing a difference of JD.11 per liter.

The actual cost of kerosene was approximately JD0.945 per liter, while it is sold to consumers at JD0.55 per liter, resulting in a difference of JD.395 per liter.

As for domestic gas cylinders, the actual cost was approximately JD12.5 per cylinder, compared with a consumer selling price of JOD7, a difference of JD5.5 per cylinder.

The differences between actual costs and local selling prices reflect the level of subsidies borne by the Treasury to maintain the prices of certain petroleum products and domestic gas cylinders below their actual costs.
