Srinagar Hits 33.5°C, More Hot Days Ahead
According to the weather forecast, scattered rain and thundershowers are likely during the early morning and afternoon hours on August 30.
ADVERTISEMENTOn August 31 and September 1, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected at many places, with brief intense or heavy showers possible in a few districts of the Jammu division.
The weather is likely to remain generally dry from September 2 to 10, although brief spells of rain or thundershowers may occur at scattered places during the early morning and afternoon hours.
ADVERTISEMENTThe weather department has cautioned that brief intense showers in localised areas during August 31 and September 1-2 could trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides.
Srinagar's maximum temperature of 33.5 degrees Celsius was 4.6 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 19.6 degrees Celsius, 3.6 degrees above normal.
Jammu recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26.2 degrees, while Kupwara registered a high of 34.2 degrees.
Qazigund recorded a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius, while Kokernag and Banihal recorded 31.2 and 30.4 degrees, respectively.

Katra recorded a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and received 84.2 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 am on Saturday, the highest among the stations listed by the weather department.
The MeT advised people, particularly those living in vulnerable areas, to remain cautious during periods of intense rainfall because of the risk of flash floods, mudslides and landslides.
Farmers, meanwhile, have been advised to continue harvesting and other agricultural operations while keeping local weather conditions in view.
