Gov't Completes 86.4% Of Digitisation Of Services - Minister

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - A total of 1.1 million digital IDs have been activated through the government's“Sanad” application over the past eight months, reflecting growing public confidence in the app and the ease of accessing its services, Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Minister Sami Smirat said on Saturday.

Speaking to Al Mamlaka, Smirat said that the government is committed to automating all government services that can be digitised, which number 2,400. To date, 2,073 services, or 86.4 per cent, have been completed, with work continuing to reach full digitisation.

He said the activation of digital IDs continues to increase, while public satisfaction with government services is also improving.

Smirat noted that Jordan took around five and a half years to activate 2 million digital IDs, compared with 1.1 million activated during the past eight months.

He said the figure represents around 50 to 55 per cent of the number of digital IDs activated over the previous five and a half years, reflecting increased public confidence in“Sanad” and its importance in facilitating access to government services.

Smirat said satisfaction with the“Sanad” application stood at around 63 per cent two years ago, but had risen to 85 per cent, according to assessments conducted by civil society organisations.

He said the increase in satisfaction reflects the ease and accessibility of services provided through the application.

The minister also said all government services being digitised, undergoing procedural re-engineering or being redigitised will be added to the“Sanad” application.
