Justice Minister Meets With Heads Of Moroccan Public Prosecution, Constitutional Court
Amman, August 29 (Petra) – Minister of Justice Bassam Talhouni met in Morocco with Hicham El Balawi, Head of the Moroccan Public Prosecution, and Amine Ben Abdellah, President of the Moroccan Constitutional Court, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise and experience in the justice system.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Justice on Saturday, Talhouni discussed, during two separate meetings, the historic ties between Jordan and Morocco, as well as the two countries' shared commitment to advancing cooperation.
Talhouni discussed several issues of mutual interest, particularly criminal law, mechanisms for enhancing international judicial cooperation and the exchange of expertise and experience in prosecuting transnational crimes and expediting cooperation procedures between the competent judicial authorities.
In his meeting with the President of the Moroccan Constitutional Court, Talhouni discussed the constitutional and judicial experiences of both countries, the role of constitutional courts in safeguarding constitutional principles and upholding the rule of law and opportunities for exchanging expertise and experience.
Talhouni commended Morocco's experience in developing its justice system, calling for leveraging successful Arab experiences and exchanging knowledge and expertise to advance judicial development.
