Over $1M Deal Inked To Provide Healthcare Services To Mothers, Children


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) "> KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth more than 1.022 million US dollars with Hewad Organisation to improve mothers' and children's access to healthcare services in 14 provinces.

In a statement, the ministry said that under the one-year agreement, healthcare services would be provided at 35 health centres offering psychosocial support services in Badakhshan, Badghis, Ghazni, Helmand, Kabul, Logar, Maidan Wardak, Nangarhar, Paktia, Panjsher, Sar-i-Pul, Takhar, Uruzgan and Zabul provinces.

It said as many as 111,894 residents of the provinces would benefit from the project, while 204 people would be provided with employment opportunities in the health sector.

It added that the MoU was signed to improve the quality of healthcare services, increase people's access to such services and reduce their health problems.

Representatives of Hewad Organisation also assured that they would implement the project over one year in accordance with the set standards and pay special attention to meeting the healthcare needs of the people.
