Putin Aims To Capture Donetsk And Luhansk Regions By December 31, But Goal Is Unrealistic - Palisa

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to a Ukrinform correspondent, Pavlo Palisa, deputy head of the Office of the President, made this statement during a press briefing.

“In political negotiations, the issue of Donbas is always the first to come up. The Russian Federation's political leadership has tasked the military leadership with resolving the Donbas issue-that is, advancing to the administrative borders of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions-by December 31 of this year. The military leadership, however, is convincing the political leadership that it is unrealistic to accomplish this task within the specified timeframe. Instead, they are requesting an extension until March 31. My personal opinion is that even by March 31, this scenario remains unrealistic,” Palisa emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, over the past 24 hours, on August 28, 242 clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the front lines. The highest number occurred in the Pokrovsk direction.
