Ukrainian Drone Barrage Injures 7, Forces Evacuations in Rostov
(MENAFN) A massive Ukrainian drone assault on Russia's southern Rostov region left seven people injured overnight and triggered the evacuation of residential buildings, a regional official said Saturday.
“Seven people were injured as a result of a massive enemy attack,” Gov. Yuriy Slyusar confirmed on Telegram, noting that four of the injured were hospitalized in Rostov-on-Don, the regional capital. One victim remains in serious condition following the nighttime assault, he said.
In the Proletarsky district, falling debris from a downed unmanned aerial vehicle tore into two apartment complexes, forcing emergency crews to move residents into temporary shelter.
Elsewhere, authorities in the Aksaysky district found drone wreckage at a warehouse and reported a forest-belt fire nearby. In the Bagayevsky district, private homes sustained damage, though no injuries were reported there.
Slyusar cautioned that the threat of further drone activity remains active, urging residents to stay indoors and away from windows.
Ukraine's government has not yet commented on the strike.
