SVR Chief Confirms Talks with CIA Director in Moscow

(MENAFN) Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) chief Sergey Naryshkin confirms that he met with
CIA Director John Ratcliffe during the American intelligence chief’s recent visit to Moscow.

Naryshkin describes the encounter as routine and says the two officials held discussions within
the established working framework between their intelligence agencies.

“During the meeting, we discussed a number of issues that fall within the purview of intelligence
services. And intelligence services' purview is a rather delicate and specific matter,” the SVR
chief said.

Russian authorities had previously confirmed Ratcliffe’s visit, saying it involved direct contacts
between the two countries’ security services. They described such communication as a
constructive development.

The Moscow trip marks the first time a serving CIA director has visited the Russian capital since
2021.

Flight tracking data also shows that a US Air Force C-17A Globemaster III traveled from Riga to
Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport on Tuesday after arriving in Latvia from the United States two days
earlier.

The military aircraft later left Moscow and returned to Riga the same day.
