Iran Warns Future War with US Could Expand Across Region

(MENAFN) Iran’s army warns that any potential future conflict with the United States could extend beyond
existing battle zones and threaten critical energy and communications infrastructure throughout
the region.

Brig. Gen. Mohammad Akraminia says Iran has previously cautioned that any “miscalculation”
by its opponents would trigger an immediate response and could cause fighting to spread
geographically.

“A possible future war could encompass new arenas,” Akraminia said.

He points to the Bab al-Mandab Strait and a US military base in Syria as examples of areas that
have become involved in the conflict despite previously falling outside its main geographical
scope.

“Today, threats exist across the entire region, and we have the capabilities to confront and deal
with them,” he said.

Akraminia also warns that a future confrontation could open additional fronts involving vital
energy and communications networks across the Middle East.

He specifically highlights infrastructure and communication connections that largely extend
along the seabed in waters near Iran and the Arabian Peninsula, as well as through the Gulf of
Oman.
