Another Ukrainian Woman Missing In Nepal Floods - MFA


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry provided the figures as of 22:30 Kyiv time on Thursday, Ukrinform reports.

The number of Ukrainians with whom contact has been lost has remained virtually unchanged, with one more Ukrainian citizen added to the list. She was part of a foreign tourist group. The total number of Ukrainians currently out of contact stands at 56.

At the same time, according to verified information available so far, there are no Ukrainians among those reported injured or killed as a result of the natural disaster.

The Foreign Ministry said search operations are continuing. An operational team from the Embassy of Ukraine in India is currently at the disaster site. Ukrainian consuls are maintaining direct contact with local authorities coordinating the rescue operations in an effort to locate and evacuate Ukrainians with whom contact has been lost.

The Nepalese army and police continue search-and-rescue operations, with around 15 helicopters involved.

The Foreign Ministry, Ukrainian diplomats and consuls are keeping the situation under special supervision. Ukraine is also coordinating efforts to search for and evacuate its citizens with other foreign countries.

The Foreign Ministry said it would provide updates once new information becomes available.

As Ukrinform reported, Nepalese police updated the death toll from yesterday's flash floods, reporting that 389 people had been killed.
