Faith & Devotion Fill Hazratbal For Friday Congregation
The shrine, located on the banks of Dal Lake, witnessed a steady influx of devotees from across Kashmir, who joined prayers and recitations of Durood-o-Azkar.

The shrine premises and adjoining areas remained crowded as religious scholars and preachers spoke about the life, teachings and message of the Prophet (PBUH), with emphasis on peace, compassion, brotherhood and mutual respect.
National Conference president and former chief minister Farooq Abdullah also joined the Friday congregation at Hazratbal along with thousands of devotees.
ADVERTISEMENTSimilar Milad gatherings, prayers and religious programmes were held at mosques and shrines across Srinagar and other parts of the Valley, with men, women and children participating in large numbers.
Devotees from different parts of Srinagar described the gathering as a reflection of the deep religious faith associated with Hazratbal.
“Coming here on this blessed occasion gives us a sense of spiritual connection and togetherness,” said Manzoor Ahmed, a devotee from Soura.

“The atmosphere is peaceful and spiritual. People have come from different places to remember the Prophet and seek blessings,” he said.
Congregations were also reported from Bandipora, Baramulla, Kupwara, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag, while several areas of Srinagar, including parts of the old city and uptown, witnessed religious gatherings and processions.
Security arrangements were stepped up around Hazratbal and other key locations. IGP Kashmir Zone Sujit Kumar reviewed the arrangements, while police and other security personnel were deployed to facilitate the movement of devotees and maintain order.
The district administration made arrangements, including medical facilities near the shrine, while Traffic Police implemented route plans and diversions to regulate vehicular movement in and around Hazratbal.
Outside the shrine, local vendors also saw brisk business, with many visitors stopping for the popular halwa-paratha, providing a boost to trade around the shrine.
The gatherings across the Valley marked the continuation of religious programmes following Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), with Hazratbal remaining the main centre of congregational prayers and devotion. (KNO)
