Another 23 Ukrainians Brought Home From Temporarily Occupied Territories - Lubinets

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament's Commissioner for Human Rights, reported this on Facebook.

“Over the past two weeks, with the assistance of the Ombudsman's Office, we have managed to bring 23 Ukrainian citizens home, and just yesterday we evacuated a large group of Ukrainians-16 people. These include elderly people, citizens with limited mobility, Ukrainians with health issues, and families with children. And each of them required their own route, their own documents, their own solutions, and their own assistance,” the statement reads.

Lubinets expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross, with whom the evacuation was coordinated, and Caritas Ukraine.

“Overall, the oldest person we've brought back so far is 88 years old. The youngest is 11 years old. He is a boy with diabetes who requires constant insulin therapy. We managed to organize the return of the child and his family, and we also ensured that the necessary insulin was prepared in advance so that the difficult journey would not lead to a deterioration in the child's health,” Lubinets reported.

A 17-year-old boy, who celebrated his birthday yesterday, was also evacuated from the temporarily occupied territories.

“He had been living under occupation with his family for a long time, but his parents made every effort to ensure he could continue his studies at a Ukrainian educational institution. Therefore, after 9th grade and over the past three years, the young man studied remotely and even enrolled in a Ukrainian university here,” Lubinets explained.

According to him, leaving the temporarily occupied territories (TOT) is an opportunity for the young man to meet up with his classmates, with whom he has studied for the past three years. In addition, the young man's older sister was waiting for the family in the territory of Ukraine controlled by the government-she had left her hometown even before the temporary occupation began. Now they have been reunited.

“Behind every such return lies individual work with families, resolving documentary and organizational issues, and coordination with Ukrainian government agencies, as well as international and humanitarian partners. But we are working and helping Ukrainians,” Lubinets emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, the head of the Office of the President, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that a large-scale exchange of prisoners of war is planned in the coming days.
