Futures Flat To End Week

Futures tracking Canada's main stock index were little changed on Friday, as investors weighed developments in the Middle East following domestic GDP data and Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's speech at Jackson Hole.
The TSX fought its way out of the red, gaining 20.6 points by the finish to 36,834.25
The Canadian dollar was flat Friday to 72.03 cents U.S.
Separately, U.S. President Donald Trump renamed Lake Ontario "Lake America" on Thursday, deepening a dispute with Canada that has already spawned tariffs on tens of billions of dollars in cross-border trade.
Meanwhile, Canada's ambassador to Washington, Mark Wiseman, said on Thursday that the nation cannot accept a trade deal with the U.S. unless it ensures the survival of a robust Canadian auto assembly and parts industry.
On the economic front, Statistics Canada was due to report gross domestic product for June.

The TSX Venture Exchange eked higher 1.32 points Thursday to 1,004.09.
ON WALLSTREET
Stock futures were mixed on Friday as investors monitored earnings reports and awaited Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh's latest address.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrials inched up two points to 53,623.
Futures for the S&P 500 slid 2.25 points to 7,740.25.
Futures for the NASDAQ Composite deleted 79.75 points, or 0.3%, to 29,616.
Gap shares jumped 14% despite a mixed quarterly report as the retail announced a new chief executive for the struggling Old Navy brand. Marvell Technology slid about 8% after issuing current-quarter guidance for non-GAAP gross margin that disappointed the Street.
With Thursday's advance, the three major indexes are on track to end the week higher. If the Dow ends positive, it would mark the blue-chip index's first winning week in three.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index powered 0.4% Friday, while in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng nudged higher 0.1%.
Oil prices settled 50 cents to $83.03 U.S. a barrel.
Gold prices ditched $17.60 to $4,646.40 U.S an ounce.
