Kingdom To See Slight Drop In Temperatures Saturday, Marked Decline Expected Sunday

Amman, Aug. 28 (Petra)-- The weather on Friday will be relatively hot across most parts of the Kingdom and hot in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba areas, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

Winds will be northwesterly and moderate, occasionally picking up.

On Saturday, temperatures are expected to drop slightly, reaching around their average levels for this time of year. The weather will be moderate in most areas and hot in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba. Low-level clouds will appear over northern parts of the Kingdom. Winds will be westerly and moderate, becoming active at times and occasionally raising dust, particularly in the Badia.

A marked drop in temperatures is forecast for Sunday, with partly cloudy and moderate conditions prevailing in most areas. The weather will remain relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba. There is a chance of scattered showers in the morning in northern parts of the Kingdom and some western areas of the central region, with thunderstorms possible at times in the north.

Winds will be westerly and moderate, occasionally becoming active and raising dust, particularly in the Badia.

On Monday, temperatures are expected to rise slightly. The weather will be moderate in most areas and relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba, with some low-level clouds. Winds will be westerly and moderate, occasionally picking up.

Today, maximum and minimum temperatures in East Amman will range between 35 C and 23 C, compared with 33 C and 21 C in West Amman, 31 C and 19 C in the northern highlands, 33 C and 15 C in the Sharah Mountains, 39 C and 20 C in the Badia, 34 C and 18 C in the plains, 41 C and 22 C in the northern Jordan Valley, 42 C and 25 C in the southern Jordan Valley, 41 C and 25 C at the Dead Sea, and 42 C and 28 C in Aqaba.
