No Officials Punished For Violating Veterans' Rights - Lubinets
"We raise this issue year after year, but so far we have still not proposed a system for holding accountable a specific official who has violated the rights of a veteran, female veteran, or their family members," Lubinets said.
According to the Ombudsman, his Office has repeatedly identified specific officials whose actions resulted in violations of veterans' rights and has appealed to the leadership of ministries and military units, asking them to impose disciplinary measures.

In many such cases, according to Lubinets, the officials' actions show signs of at least administrative offenses. The Ombudsman called for violations of veterans' rights to be addressed and for disciplinary penalties to be imposed on those responsible.
"Impose a disciplinary penalty-at least respond somehow to the violation of a right. Not a single official has been held accountable. Not one. If this system does not change, we will see an increase in appeals from veterans, while the system itself will not start working," he stressed.
As Ukrinform reported, during the presentation of the Special Report "On the State of Implementation of Veterans' Policy in Ukraine," Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said that Ukraine already has more than 2 million veterans. Their number will continue to grow, and veterans' policy will affect Ukrainian society and the state for at least the next 30 years.
