Moldova, Ukraine And Romania Must Strengthen Cooperation To Protect Their Airspace Sandu
“The sky above us clearly demonstrates how important our cooperation is. Russia's brutal war against Ukraine is being felt far beyond its borders,” the Moldovan President said.
According to Sandu, the airspace of Moldova and Romania has been violated dozens of times as a result of Russian aggression. On the eve of Moldova's Independence Day, Russian drones again entered the country's airspace“with the obvious aim of intimidating us.”
“And now I want to say clearly in the presence of our friends: we will not be intimidated,” Sandu assured.
She emphasized that Moldova is investing in air defense to develop the capabilities needed to protect its population and critical infrastructure. At the same time, she called on the free world to help Ukraine strengthen its air defenses ahead of winter.
In addition, the Moldovan President stressed the need to develop joint infrastructure, including transport and energy links, as well as ensure the safe operation of ports on the Danube.
“We want them to operate, and we want the sky to be protected,” Sandu concluded.
