- Associate Professor of American Religions, Iowa State University
I am a scholar of American and Indigenous religions. My ethnohistorical scholarship draws on history and anthropology to examine religion, race, and culture in (and beyond) the United States. My work primarily focuses on the representation of Native American and Indigenous religions in political, scientific, and popular realms.
My research and teaching areas include American religions; Indigenous religions; religion and museums; religion, health, and medicine; method and theory in the study of religion; religion, law, and politics; and religion, race, and empire.
