Qatar PM To Visit Tehran For Mediation Efforts
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei told reporters that the visit is part of ongoing consultations between Iran and Qatar aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and promoting peace and security in the region, Mehr News Agency reported.
Baghaei said Qatar had continued its efforts in recent months to help prevent an escalation of tensions in the region.
He added that Al Thani would meet Iranian officials to discuss Qatar's ongoing mediation efforts and initiatives, as well as other regional developments.
Reuters, quoting Baghaei, said that the Qatari prime minister would also discuss continued mediation efforts and ways to ease tensions between Iran and the United States.
