American Trailer Manufacturers Call On International Trade Commission To End The Flood Of Dumped Van Trailer Imports From Communist China, Canada And Mexico
A final injury determination from the ITC will pave the way for the U.S. Department of Commerce to impose final antidumping and countervailing duties on imported trailers from Mexico, Canada and China. This flood of imports threatens over 50,000 American jobs.
“The data and evidence presented demonstrates that the American trailer manufacturers have been injured and are threatened with further injury if trade remedies are not imposed against imports of van trailers from China, Mexico and Canada,” said Robert E. DeFrancesco, counsel to ATMC and partner at Wiley LLP.“If given a level playing field American trailer manufacturers can compete with anyone and will strengthen the entire American supply chain. An affirmative determination by the ITC is critical to saving this great American manufacturing industry and their 50,000 workers from the predatory trade practice of China, Mexico and Canada.”
The ATMC is a coalition of leading U.S. trailer producers Great Dane LLC, Stoughton Trailers LLC, and Wabash Corporation. The American trailer industry directly supports almost 10,000 U.S. jobs and indirectly supports approximately 50,000 across America.
