Ministry Dismantles 5 New Water Thefts In Amman's Na'ur
Amman, Aug. 27 (Petra) – The Ministry of Water and Irrigation/Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) announced its inspection teams, in cooperation with relevant authorities, detected 5 violations on a 300mm diameter water pipeline.
In a statement issued Thursday, the ministry said 3 of these cases were used to illegally fill 1-inch water tankers, while the other 2 supplied water to farms and homes.
During the crackdown conducted on Wednesday morning, the ministry added that the teams removed the illegal fixtures removed and repaired the pipelines, while the seized items were documented, noting that an investigation is underway into the incidents.
As for its policy, the ministry continues its efforts to stiffen control over Jordan's water resources nationwide.
