20 Sick Children Return To Gaza After Treatment In Jordan
The returning group included 20 children accompanied by 48 family members, according to a Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) statement.
The children received the necessary medical care in the Kingdom after being evacuated to Jordan by the JAF, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The children's families expressed their gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah and the JAF for their humanitarian and medical efforts to provide healthcare to people in the Gaza Strip. They also praised the quality of care and medical services their children received during their treatment in Jordan.
Patients and their companions are returned to Gaza after completing treatment to make room for new groups of patients to be evacuated to Jordan for medical care.
The“Jordanian Medical Corridor” initiative is part of the Kingdom's ongoing humanitarian and relief efforts to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Jordan also runs two military field hospitals in Gaza, one in the Strip's north, which was established in 2009 following the war in 2008, and the second is in Khan Younis in the south, which was established in November 2023 at the peak of the Israeli war of aggression on the coastal enclave that erupted on October 7, 2023.
Other humanitarian programmes include the land bridge for aid delivery, the mobile bakery, and the Restoring Hope Initiative, which provides prosthetics for amputees.
