War Update: 229 Clashes On Front Line, Heaviest Fighting In Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka Sectors

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in a Facebook post on the battlefield situation as of 08:00 on Thursday, August 27.

The enemy carried out 88 airstrikes, dropping 294 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces used 11,150 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,288 shelling attacks, including 47 using multiple launch rocket systems.

Artillery strikes targeted the settlements of Vyntorivka, Korenok, Kondrativka, Korchakivka, Kruzhok, Bachivsk, Sopych, Atynske, Neskuchne, Volfyne, Bezsalivka, and Yastrubshchyna in the Sumy region.

Ukraine's Air Force, missile forces and artillery struck nine command posts, seven clusters of Russian manpower, three artillery systems, 10 UAV control points and three other important Russian targets.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, 10 combat engagements took place. Russian forces carried out 52 attacks and launched three airstrikes using six guided aerial bombs.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian units repelled 10 attacks. Russian forces attempted to advance near Prylipka, Starytsia, Synelnykove, Vilcha, Lyman, and Vovchanski Khutory.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy carried out one offensive action toward Radkivka.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked seven times near Lyman and toward Hrekivka and Novoselivka.

In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy carried out six assault actions near Ozerne, Zakitne, and Kryva Luka, as well as toward Mykolaivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces conducted three offensive actions near Fedorivka Druha and Nykyforivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, 28 attacks were recorded. Russian forces carried out assault operations near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Novoselivka, Rusyn Yar, and Nove Shakhove, as well as toward Mykolaipillia.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy launched 31 attacks. Russian forces attempted to advance toward Bilytske, Vasylivka, Serhiivka, Svitle, Novyi Donbas, Myrne, Filiia, and Novopavlivka, as well as near Udachne, Novooleksandrivka and Molodetske.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy carried out five attacks toward Piddubne and near Rybne.

In the Huliaipole sector, the Russian army attacked nine times, attempting to advance toward Vozdvyzhivka, Dobropillia, Charivne, and Novoselivka, as well as near Bilohiria and Luhivske.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukraine's Defense Forces stopped four enemy attempts to advance toward Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, and Lukianivske.

In the Dnipro River sector, Russian forces did not conduct any assault operations over the past day.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of Russian offensive groupings being formed were detected.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russia's total combat losses in its full-scale war against Ukraine from February 24, 2022, to August 27, 2026, amount to approximately 1,482,150 personnel.
