Sharjah's mountain haven Khor Fakkan will now be divided into four districts, as the emirate's Ruler approved the new administrative division for the city on Tuesday.
Khor Fakkan will be divided into four districts, namely - Khor Fakkan city, Al Aweinat, Al Sayh, and Al Sabihiya. The Khor Fakkan suburbs plan shows the city extends from Aqabat Khor Fakkan to Aqabat Al-Lu'lu'iyah.

"I have been informed that there is congestion at the hospital and clinics in Kalba, so we wanted to address this matter quickly and contacted the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, and they responded to meet all the needs."
The authority has now begun measures to increase doctors, medicines, facilities, and construction.
Studies and tenders have begun to establish a hospital similar to the University Hospital - Al Madam Branch in Kalba, Khor Fakkan, and Dibba Al Hisn each.
The University Hospital, meanwhile, is currently under construction and nearing completion, the Ruler confirmed. He further revealed that it will take five to six months for the Sharjah Health Authority to build these hospitals.
"Whether large or small, [and if these hospitals] require budget funding, we have found a way for them and placed their plan in the middle of the year."
Developing Khor FakkanThe Sharjah Ruler said the goal is to make the area green, with specialised companies set to undertake the task of planting them with dense and fruitful trees.
"Since this land is virgin, we will release some small animals and some types of beneficial insects into it."
There is also yellow area in the plan called the 'Al-Uwaynat' suburb, which will have mountains flattened to create neighborhoods. Meanwhile, the Al-Sayh suburb will have the Al-Uwayn mountain as well as the Shukayr mountains.
The Ruler revealed plans of holding lengthy meetings with the Suburbs Affairs Department to determine the mechanism for electing members of the councils. There will also be neighborhood officials appointed who will directly communicate with the leader, as they will take charge of not just the neighbourhood, but also the people in the neighbourhood and their requests and needs.
The Ruler earlier this month revealed an ongoing research for a project to level the summit of Al-Awain Mountain and build a residential area in Khor Fakkan, noting the need to name areas with names that symbolise good things.
“Just as we planned the city of Kalba, we have also planned the city of Khorfakkan, but the plan has not yet been published. Khorfakkan is a city surrounded by mountains on all sides, from Al Hawami to the mountains and towards the sea, south and north, ending at Al Aqaba at the entrance to Al Luluyah. All these neighbourhoods are neighbourhoods of Khorfakkan, not suburbs of Khorfakkan.”
