Salman Khan Pays Heartfelt Tribute To Late Filmmaker Kuku Kohli

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Actor Salman Khan has offered his heartfelt tribute to late filmmaker Kuku Kohli, offering strength to his wife, veteran actor Aruna Irani.

In an X post, Salman wrote, "Rest in peace Kuki ji, Aruna ji my heart goes out to u. May God give u strength."

Earlier, several celebrities came forward to show their support for the grieving Aruna Irani, who was in tears as she reached the crematorium on Wednesday.

Actors, filmmakers, and fans paid their tributes on social media, remembering Kuku Kohli and his work in the Indian film industry.

Actor Ajay Devgn, who made his acting debut with Kuku Kohli's 'Phool Aur Kaante', also expressed gratitude for the faith that the late filmmaker showed in him.

The actor also credited Kohli for changing the course of his life.

Veteran filmmaker Kuku Kohli died at the age of 77 after suffering a heart attack at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirabhai Ambani Hospital on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Kohli's final procession commenced at 10 am from his residence at Green Acres in Lokhandwala Complex, Andheri West, and proceeded towards Oshiwara Crematorium.

Actors Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, along with filmmaker Rohit Shetty, Rajpal Yadav, and Javed Akhtar, arrived to pay their respects.

Kohli, who made his directorial debut with 'Phool Aur Kaante', went on to direct films like 'Suhaag', 'Haqeeqat', 'Zulmi', 'Anari No 1', and 'Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa'.

His last directorial venture, 'Woh Tera Naam Tha', came out in 2004.

Kuku Kohli is survived by his wife, Aruna Irani, and two daughters, Pooja and Karishma, from his first marriage to Rita Kohli.
