85 Migrants Rescued Off Crete: Report
Athens: The Greek coastguard on Tuesday rescued 85 migrants from two boats in trouble off Crete, the ANA news agency reported.
Hundreds of people trying to reach Europe have been pulled out of the sea off the island in recent days.
The two rubber dinghies were spotted by a drone and the coast guard vessel rushed to the area, ANA quoted the coast guard as saying.
The migrants were taken to the port of Kali Limenes in southern Crete to be registered.
Crete and the nearby island of Gavdos, about 320 kilometres (200 miles) from the Libyan coast, have over the past year become a magnet for asylum seekers wanting to reach Europe.
