Russia's Fourth-Largest Oil Refinery Halts Oil Processing After Drone Attack Reuters
According to the sources, the drone attack damaged several processing units, inter-unit infrastructure and general plant facilities. They were unable to say how long it would take to repair the damage and resume processing operations at the refinery.
On August 26, a Ukrainian drone attack damaged an industrial facility in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region, regional Governor Gleb Nikitin said on Wednesday.
Lukoil, which owns the refinery, did not comment on the attack.
At present, all of Lukoil's major Russian oil refineries are out of operation. The Perm Refinery halted operations following a drone attack on August 21, while the Volgograd Refinery suspended oil processing on July 31.
NORSI has the capacity to process about 15 million metric tons of crude oil per year and produce approximately five million tons of gasoline, more than five million tons of diesel fuel, two million tons of fuel oil, and about 500,000 tons of bitumen.
