Taha Rezaei is a Research Assistant at the University of Exeter, where I completed my PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering. My research sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, complex systems and infrastructure resilience, with particular interests in Quantum Machine Learning (QML), Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), Digital Twins (DTs), and data-driven modelling of interdependent infrastructure systems.
My main work focuses on understanding and improving the resilience of complex infrastructure under climate extremes, compound and cascading hazards. I develop AI- and machine-learning-based approaches for modelling infrastructure dependencies, systemic failure, recovery and adaptation, with growing emphasis on trustworthy and explainable AI, digital-twin-enabled resilience assessment, and advanced computational frameworks for complex system-of-systems. My wider research also includes probabilistic risk modelling, multi-hazard assessment and the application of quantum and hybrid machine learning to environmental and infrastructure problems.
