Levan Tielidze
- Research Fellow in Glacial Geomorphology, Monash University
Levan Tielidze completed his PhD at the Antarctic Research Centre, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
His work combines remote sensing and in situ methods to investigate modern alpine and rock glaciers in relation to ongoing climate change. His research interests also extend to reconstructing past glacier dynamics using glacial geomorphology and cosmogenic nuclide dating.
In particular, Dr. Tielidze focuses on the deglaciation history of the Antarctic Ice Sheet, the Southern Alps of New Zealand, the Caucasus Mountains, the Himalayas, and the Tibetan Plateau.
At Monash University, he is a member of the Earth, Atmosphere and Environment (EAE) team, within the Securing Antarctica's Environmental Future (SAEF) initiative and the Monash Ice Sheet Initiative. His research at Monash aims to advance understanding of the Antarctic Ice Sheet's response to both past and present climate change.
