Rrbs Record Rs10,176 Crore Net Profit In FY 2025-26 As Total Business Crosses Rs13.5 Lakh Crore
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of NABARD, chairpersons of all 28 RRBs and officials from the Department of Financial Services, Sponsor Banks, Reserve Bank of India and SIDBI.
The combined net profit of RRBs rose from Rs6,820 crore in FY 2024-25 to Rs10,176 crore in FY 2025-26. Gross NPAs and Net NPAs declined to all-time lows of 5.3Percent and 2.1Percent, respectively.
Currently, 28 RRBs operate through 22,273 branches across 26 states and three Union Territories, covering around 700 districts.
RRBs also opened over 54.98 lakh new Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana accounts during FY 2025-26. Their Credit-Deposit Ratio reached an all-time high of 75.2Percent.
The Secretary, Department of Financial Services, called on RRBs to accelerate the adoption of modern banking technology and digital financial services, particularly in rural and remote areas.
Sponsor Banks were also urged to support RRBs in strengthening their IT infrastructure and expanding credit to sectors relevant to their respective regions.
