Regional Nations Welcome YPG Integration into Syrian State Institutions
(MENAFN) Several countries across the region welcome the incorporation of the now-dissolved YPG group into Syria’s official military structure, viewing the development as a step that could support security, stability, and national unity.
Saudi Arabia says the measure could help strengthen stability and security in Syria. It also reaffirms its backing for efforts by the Syrian authorities aimed at fulfilling the aspirations of the Syrian people while promoting national unity and development.
Jordan also welcomes the development, describing it as an “important step” toward reinforcing Syria’s unity, security, and stability. Jordanian officials reaffirm support for rebuilding Syria in a way that safeguards its sovereignty and territorial integrity, strengthens national cohesion, and protects the rights of all Syrians.
Qatar similarly praises the move, considering it a significant development that could contribute to civil peace, improve security and stability, and support the establishment of a state governed by strong institutions and the rule of law.
It adds that Syria’s long-term stability and prosperity depend on ensuring that weapons remain under state control and that a single national army represents all segments of Syrian society.
