MAIN Championship Delivers An Explosive Night Of International Muay Thai At BMICH

(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) The gloves were on, the lights were up and the energy inside BMICH was electric as MAIN Championship delivered an unforgettable night of international Muay Thai on Sunday, 9 August.

Sri Lanka's first international Muay Thai fight night brought together 20 fighters from eight countries for 10 high-intensity bouts, giving fight fans a night packed with skill, power, determination and non-stop action. From the opening bell, the atmosphere inside the arena was charged, with local and international fighters going head-to-head in a showcase of world-class combat sports.

The night reached its ultimate showdown with the MAIN Championship title fight, as Sri Lanka's Arafath Ahamed faced Thailand's Jeeradech Wongyoo (Yodthanong). In a thrilling final bout, Wongyoo emerged victorious to claim the inaugural MAIN Championship title belt, bringing the first edition of the Championship to a spectacular close.

The action throughout the night saw Sri Lankan fighters Sehas Perera, Fahad Nawas and Kavindu Lakshan secure victories, while international winners included fighters from the Maldives, India, Thailand and Brazil.

More than a fight night, MAIN Championship is a platform built to give fighters the opportunity to compete at an international standard while bringing a new level of sporting entertainment to Sri Lanka. The Championship's vision is to take Sri Lankan combat sports to the global stage and create lasting opportunities for athletes and the wider sporting community.
